Environmental sanitation is a major public health problem in India.It depends on various components that involve the hygiene status of the public, types of resources available, innovative and appropriate technologies according to the requirement of the community, socio-economic development of the country, cultural factors related to environmental sanitation, social factors including behavioral pattern of the community, legislative measures adopted, and many more.
We, Indians are still lagging far behind many countries in the field of environmental sanitation.In India we need thesanitationawakening campaign as well as the hygiene campaign too.
The Poor sanitation is not only affects the health of the public of the country, but also affects the development of our country.We see that most of the women are affected by the hazards of lack of proper sanitation.In India, we see that many girls drop out of school because of lack of proper sanitation and toilets.
These Poor hygiene practices, such as not washing hands with soap or unhygienic water are a major contributor to poor health and spread of diseases in our country.
According to the report of United Nations Children’s Fund,around 1,000 children below the age of five die every day in India from Diarrhea, hepatitis-causing pathogens and other sanitation-related diseases.
The absence of sanitation and hygiene contribute to the scope of health and environmental issues. The subsequent disorder cause enduring the loss of opportunities to earn a living or togain education.We are organized‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’ program to aware the public awareness towards clean India initiative, by Govt. of India.Our Construction work of IHHL extended to Ludhiana district in partnership with BhartiFoundation.More than 1,600 IHHLs built from April 2015 to March 2016.
Over the years, however, we have understood that sanitation and hygiene assume a critical part in protecting lives, and expanding health and prosperity. We,Turnstone Global undertook various community awareness programs like housing, sanitation, hygiene etc.
We are working to promote the awareness campaign towards the masses – Water, sanitation and hygiene for health in rural areas as well as in urban areas too.
