Celebrating World No Tobacco Day-2019

Every year, on 31 may, the World Health Organization (who) and various global partners celebrate world no tobacco day (WNTD). The reason behind this annual campaign is to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure which is also referred as effect of dangerous passive smoking and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.

If we focus on the statistics provided by who then we can find that there are almost 120 million smokers in India
which is 12% of the world’s smokers. Every year more than 10 million die in India due to tobacco in India.
As per the survey conducted by the international institute of population science and the ministry of health and family welfare, it had been found that 56.6% of people in Kolkata smoke, the highest rate in the country. 82% of men and 23.5% of women smoke in Kolkata.

On the world no tobacco day let’s take an oath by saying no to tobacco hence forth!!!!!

There are lot of ways to bid good bye to your tobacco buddies and they are:

1. To make an alternative habit to chew sugar free gum, hard candies, sunflower seeds, cayenne powder.
2. To detect the craving time for tobacco try to keep a handy note book to make a note of the time of tobacco cravings and it will help you to divert your mind at that particular time to other interesting work.
3. Try to indulge yourself in any fun activity like swimming, yoga, walking and any sorts of indoor or outdoor games of your interest.
4. If all above don’t suit you then please contact with us; we will provide you counselling for bid good bye to your tobacco habits.
