Since independence, India had achieved considerable improvements in the health of its population as reflected in their life expectancies which have doubled within this period. To avoid premature deaths among adults, children and maternal mortalities, etc. We have to pay the attention should be given to prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases, and women and other social determinants of health.More attention should also be given to the reduction of births among teenage girls in order to avoid premature morbidity and mortality.Women’s low status in many segments of Indian society can have a significant effect on children’s nutrition.
Health camps are one of the grand design programs adopted by both government and non-government organizations. This literally means that a team of health professionals ‘camp’ in an area to carry out a limited health intervention.Government pays the attention to the quality of health camp services to improve the quality of health care in this particular area.
Millions of Indian children are made the victims of exploitative practices like child labor, sexual abuse and trafficking. Despite aggressive attempts to implement a pro-child rights policy environment, India still needs the support of civil society, and concerned citizens to help children. At every stage, India’s children face difficult challenges. The many improvements made for children’s welfare can be credited to India’s NGOs, TURNSTONE GLOBAL which have tirelessly provided on-ground support and activism while working with officials. Our mission is “quality health to everyone” to reach this mission has started its health care initiative for the under Privileged since 1999. Under our health care initiative various health camps are being organized in rural as well as urban areas of the country. We are successfully organizing both general and specialized health camps for the poor. A general health camp team comprises of General physician, an assistant nurse, a specialized health camp has a team of specialized doctors like Dentists, Ophthalmologists, E N T,General physician, an assistant nurse.The health camps not only diagnose the ailment, we give instant relief such as first aid, distribution of free medicine, free cataract surgery in network hospital, distribution of free spectacles, distribution of hearing aids ,referrals for special ailments.
These camps are not only focus on curative health care, the gathering has also been educated on preventive health care programs through discussions, distribution of leaflets and live demonstrations and behavioral Change Communication activities among the community.
