You are born with talent, and no one can take that away from you

Many a time life gives us a threatening shock and we are almost psychologically fooled that life just ended for us. Least we know nothing is impossible to achieve, if we have the will power in us, anybody can do wonders. So when you find or see specially-abled people in your family or friends circle don’t be sorry for them, you actually have no idea how talent breeds in every soul.

Turnstone Global believes in giving opportunity to every person, and we have introduced musical training for our beneficiaries to choose their career according to their interest and talent. Previously and now, we were more focused in education but one day when we heard a child murmuring a song, we had to introduce music training.

Introduction of musical training was more about adding curricular activity to their monotonous daily educational affairs and also music is a very good source of entertainment in our lives. Actually most of us love to listen to music in our leisure time; and all that it takes to be a good signer is melodious voice which can be trained to make our beneficiaries a professional singer.

So, we started our first musical classes in Siliguri at Matrichaya, most of our in-house beneficiaries started taking up music classes on regular basis. Soon after they formed a musical band and named it ULKA, all the members of this band are visually impaired; in fact earlier they received a lot of recognition from musical events.

Two of our visually impaired beneficiaries namely Satyajeet Mondal and Md. Ameen participated in ‘Bangla Gaan Utsav’, their melodious voice not only won many hearts and applauds but also Satyajeet bagged the first prize and Ameen stood second. The prizes was handed over by the well acclaimed singer Indranil Sen, he was the judge of the event and also requested the event organizer to allow them to perform the following year.
