With the turn of this year it gives me immense pleasure to present the the Annual Report of Turnstone Global for 2019-20 which provides a glimpse of what we did and achieve this year through our synergized effort.

Investing in underprivileged section is an act of nation building. While we march ahead on the path of development, it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that everyone will be a part of development process. Every citizen must be provided with opportunities to grow in a stimulating environment. Keeping that in mind, we continued to upkeep our commitment towards the development of Children, Persons with Disability, Women, and Underprivileged Youth.

The year 2019-20 has been the year of achievements for Turnstone Global. Collaborative approaches once again paid the desired result. During the year we effectively implemented 14 projects reaching out to over 1.2 lakhs children, Women, Persons with disability and youth directly through various services and activities.

It is equally satisfying to see Turnstone Global’s increasing ability to handle multiple projects through the skilled and dedicated team it has been able to build. To enhance their field knowledge and skills of working with underprivileged section of the society they are continuously being groomed through multiple training programs and workshops. It is encouraging to note that this year we implemented some new projects in new area, which are being revealed in this annual report gradually, by which we were able to extend our services to new beneficiaries. It is also helped us to experiment with some different approaches and in the process, get to learn something new , enhancing the ever growing skill and knowledge base of Turnstone Global.

The Project ‘Muskan’ that we run for last 9 years focused on providing flexible non formal education for urban Slum children have witnessed tremendous growth covering 985 students of 5 Slums of Kolkata. Skill Development and Livelihood generation project in various location of India has produced 2431 successful students among which 421 are working in different organizations. 213 have started their own business. 564 had been arranged in Self Help Group who are making various handicraft products for managing their living.

This year Turnstone Global received significant representation and exposure. In different government committees thus creating new accessible environments the persons with disability in the country, including accessible election for persons with disability.

Admittedly, what we achieved this year could not have been possible without the constant support of our dedicated partners and donors. We are grateful to have such a dynamic tea, generous donors listed at the end of the report. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done for us and the beneficiaries we serve . We have been able to impact on the lives of over 1.2 lakh children within 2019-20 alone.

Today when I look at Siv Kashimpuria , being visually challenged , who overcome societal barriers to clear banking exams or Amit who went from working as child labour to dream being a medical professional. I feel deeply grateful for your unwavering support that has helped us to ensure brighter future for India’s underprivileged section

You have helped us make 2019-20 a truly wonderful year! Thanks to you – Our Doners, Partners, Interns and Volunteers- We have been able to create lasting change into the lives of so many underprivileged including persons with disability this year.

With the corona virus outbreak 2020 is proving to be a challenging year- the pandemic is leaving a trial of destruction of marginalized communities and their children. As the corona virus pandemic is bringing a new set of challenges this year ,we are trying to do everything we can ensure that India’s most venerable families stay protected. But we cannot do this without your support. In this time of crisis, we sincerely hope to continue transforming lives with you by our side!
